CESVI Project: Development of Taluka Level Disaster Management Plans in District Mirpurkhas, Sindh Province Under the Framework of the ECHO-Funded BRAND

The Network of Disaster Management Practitioners (NDMP) is proud to have contributed to the development of the Disaster Management Plan for Taluka Jhuddo, Taluka Sindhri, and Taluka Kot Ghulam Muhammad under the “Building Institutional Capacity and Resilience Against Natural Disasters (BRAND)” initiative. Funded by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) and implemented in partnership with CESVI Pakistan, the initiative aims to enhance disaster preparedness and disaster risk reduction through interventions such as contingency planning, risk assessment, early warning systems, and community awareness.

These plans were developed with NDMP’s technical expertise and extensive consultations with government authorities, NGOs, and community representatives to address the unique vulnerabilities of each taluka. By equipping District and Taluka Administrations to anticipate and respond to natural and human-induced disasters, the plans mark a shift from reactive approaches to proactive resilience-building, ensuring better preparedness and safeguarding lives and livelihoods.
