Iman Ibrar
Project Officer
Iman Ibrar is a dedicated Project Officer at the Network of Disaster Management Practitioners (NDMP), where she contributes to disaster risk reduction efforts through strategic data analysis. She was involved in project ER4/DRR Bangladesh, funded by USAID, focusing on data-driven disaster management strategies. With a strong background in environmental sciences and hands-on experience in policy development and disaster preparedness, Iman plays a pivotal role in coordinating project execution, managing logistics, and supporting research initiatives. Her work at NDMP builds on her previous project management experience, where she honed her skills in training coordination, strategic planning, and collaborative policy efforts with various stakeholders. Passionate about impactful disaster management, Iman continues to drive initiatives to enhance disaster resilience and recovery.
Falak Nawaz
Member Board of Directors/CEO
Mr. Falak is a seasoned disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation practitioner with over 30 years of experience in capacity building, institutional strengthening, and human resource development. Currently serving as CEO of the Network of Disaster Management Practitioners (NDMP) since 2011, he has also worked with prominent organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), World Food Programme (WFP), Asian Development Bank (ADB), and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). He was among the pioneers to establish the National Institute of Disaster Management as an auxiliary form working under the NDMA. With international experience at the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) in Bangkok, Thailand for more than 6 years, he also worked at University of Peshawar for ten years and was part of the visiting faculty as National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Islamabad and Asian Institute of Technology Bangkok, Thailand. He holds advanced degrees in Geography from University of Peshawar and Geo-information Science, specializing in natural hazards from The Netherlands. An accomplished trainer, researcher, and presenter, he has delivered countless trainings, implemented projects, and shared his expertise in over 28 countries worldwide.
Mrs. Samina Akhtar
Member Board of Directors
Ms. Samina Akhtar works as Director Admin and Finance and looks after resources, procurement and financial matters. She has also been a member of the Board of the Network of Disaster Management Practitioners (NDMP) since 2011. She holds two master’s degrees, one in Urdu and the other in Education. She has worked in the education department, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for more than 08 years. Furthermore, Ms. Samina overlooks matters related to field visits carried out by the NDMP team members.
Javaid Ahmed
Manager Accounts and Finance
Currently serving as a Manager of Accounts & Administration at the Network of Disaster Management Practitioners (NDMP) since 2018. Results-driven and strategic accounts and finance professional with 13 years of experience in managing financial operations, leading cross-functional teams, and driving business growth. Proven track record of improving financial performance, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, with the key strengths of Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting, Financial Reporting, making project budgets, LC Negotiations, and import & managing inventories. Proficient in generally accepted accounting principles and tax accounting with comprehensive tax preparation and auditing tasks and reporting in a multinational group of companies in Pakistan and abroad.
Holding a Master’s Degree in the field of commerce and a bachelor’s of Honors degree in Management from the University of Peshawar
Umar Khoso
Team Lead, NDMP
Muhammad Umar Khosa is a recognized expert in Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation, with over a decade of experience in capacity building, policy development, and disaster preparedness. His work encompasses Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM), Complex Emergency Management, Anticipatory Actions, and Institutional Strengthening for Resilience Enhancement.
Umar has led and designed high-impact training programs, workshops, and seminars for government officials, NGOs, INGOs, and community stakeholders, fostering resilience at all levels.
A proven policy strategist, Umar has played a critical role in crafting multi-sectorial policies, strategies, and roadmaps that tackle key challenges like drought, heatwave resilience, and food security. His expertise in institutional strengthening enables organizations to enhance their preparedness and response capabilities, while his coordination skills foster collaboration between government agencies, humanitarian organizations, and local communities.
Zaland Khan
Project Coordinator, NDMP
With over 10 years of experience, Mr. Zaland has engaged, supervised, and led teams, in business management, client engagement, resource management, and partnership building. He has successfully managed large Customer Success Coordinators and Logistics teams for international US-based firms. Additionally, Mr. Zaland is an expert in problem-solving, process improvement, client relationship building, business development, and project coordination.
