The Network of Disaster Management Practitioners (NDMP) is currently executing the Disaster Risk Reduction Policy formulation project for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with PDMA KP and funded by GIZ. This initiative focuses on developing a comprehensive DRR policy to alleviate vulnerabilities exacerbated by climate change, improve emergency response, and enhance resilience across the province. The policy will prioritize climate refugees, ensure resilient infrastructure, and promote community-based interventions such as Early Warning Systems. NDMP’s expert team leads key activities, including stakeholder consultations, field visits, policy dialogues, and validation workshops. The project is designed to foster an integrated, multi-sectoral approach to disaster preparedness and risk reduction, strengthening the capacity of PDMA KP to manage future disaster challenges.
